[ probably with good reason. Even Roxas is anxious about this, unsure of what to say or do. he at least wants to know Access hasn't died. ]

[It's not like he can expect a pleasant conversation about the weather.]

[ There's a slight pause, and then-- ]

...I miss Axel.

[key_illusion]

['I know.' doesn't seem like the best response.]

Maybe he'll come back.

[faints]

Is it bad to hope that he will? He'd be stuck here too

[key_illusion]

No, not really. [Since he knows what will happen to him, thanks to the Network.]

[faints]

Of course.

[Even if he was a jerk to Axel while he was here, but he had reasons.]

[faints]

[ And Access is a digital version of himself. He knows what most of the memories they shared together they are, even if Roxas doesn't. He only remembers what's happened in Asgard for the most part. There's a few indistinct memories here and there...but if just that's enough to make him miss the red head, what Access feels must be even worse. ]

Access...I'm sorry.

[That makes ??? narrow his eyes at the text, and it takes a little longer to respond than normal.]

He was your friend too...right?

Sort of. A version of Axel doesn't exist in the datascape though.

[faints]

Oh... I didn't know. [ He feels even worse for bringing it up now--he'd assumed...since there'd been copies of him and Sora and Riku, then maybe him too. ]

[key_illusion]

It's okay. No one's really supposed to know. Besides Sora and Riku and all the people they met, I'm the only one there. [From Twilight Town, at least.]

[faints]

Isn't that...sad though?

[...He's never really thought about it like that considering what he had to do.]

It is. [It's not like it's unfamiliar to him though.]

[faints]

I'm sorry. [ Again. For not understanding, for not trying to, for being so oblivious--for being burden enough for the Darkness to pit Access against him. ]

[He's still not completely sure why Roxas is apologizing. Shouldn't he be the one to be doing it?]

I'm sorry too.

[faints]

For what? [ he knows what, but he still doesn't want to acknowledge it. He doesn't even want to think about it, let alone deal with the issue. It's so much easier to try and forget. ]

[And all ??? wants to do is apologize over and over because the guilt is still clinging to him. It's lessened to the point that he can sleep again, but it's still there.

But for now, he has something different to say--]

Do you think things would be better if you didn't know what I am?

[faints]

What??? Why would you ask that?? [ he's sure his surprise shows through his words but he can't help it--that question came out of left field for him ]

Because I messed up and it's not fair to you. You wanted to be your own person, and now I'm here. Now you know. [It's something that's always bothered him, really.]

[faints]

I'm glad I know. It's...weird, and a little scary. But knowing is better than not knowing and messing up all the time.
