But I had to help inflict hurt on him in order for him to handle those memories so he could understand them.

And whose hurt does he have to take on? [Because he's starting to think you're in there as well. Maybe it's just instinct considering he's attached to those hurtful memories as well.]

Something in her chest is clenched so tightly that she's not sure it will ever come undone. She's hurting him, isn't she? By denying her own hurt which she can't really have. It's not the same, it's not-- she's causing him more of his own.]
