Better, but you definitely need practice. [He gets a smile back.] Also, suggestions only go through with one word or two, so I wouldn't have gotten if I wasn't reading you. It's not until my level that you can end up sending whole thoughts.
[Not letting go just yet--] Want to try again or do you want to work on reading emotions?
[Well, it's not going to last too long because ???'s standing up and pulling his hood into place.]
Okay, you sit there then, and I'll move... [He steps forward until he's at least 5 feet away, and he keeps his back turned to him. The point is not to show his expression.] This one might be a little harder since you don't have physical contact, but give it a try.
[And to make things different, ??? begins tapping into his memories to influence his emotions. Anger, a sense of protectiveness, worry...It's all mixed together for a temporary experiment.]
[John looks a little nervous when Mystery steps away. How was he supposed to read him from that far away? No, just focus John you can totally do this. Nothing to worry about here!]
I feel like I'm overcome with a bunch of things all at once, and I'm not sure how to separate my own feelings from that?
[The fact that he can sense ???'s feelings is a good sign, so he pulls himself away from old memories to find his own sense of amusement at the question.]
That's always the hard part. The best I can tell you is to calm yourself or don't think about your own emotions when you listen to others. Try not to react...but it's sometimes hard not to.
[...Well, maybe he went a bit too rough for John's first lesson.]
Sorry, it can be pretty rough at times. [??? turns toward him, moving to sit on the couch next to him.] I thought it would be easier to use stronger emotions to pick up on them.

[Hey. He's down with holding hands Mystery.] Let's go back and forth so I don't exhaust myself on one thing. So lets give emotions a go.

[This is weird, and he doesn't like this.]

[He draws his knees up to his chest. He doesn't really like this. At all.]

Yeah, I can tell. No need to apologize. [He turns to face Mystery.] You were just trying things, not your fault.

...I can show you something cool you can do at my level, if you want.

..Uh, sure! What level are you?
