[ Her nose is red, but she's got one hand over her mouth. ]

Well, this probably won't last for long, so I don't think it'll really matter. [So yes, it's completely fine to hug him.]

[ And then there she goes- hugging the shit out of him, tightly around the neck. ]

Sorry I yelled at you before.

[??? allows it, and although his hug is less strangling than the one she's giving him, he holds her close with his arms around her waist. It's actually a warm hug-- a bit different from his usual physical interactions.]

It's fine. I get why you did.

[ She presses her face into his neck, laughing a little at that. She's still upset, stressed and nervous from what happened before- half lovesick about Sollux- but a hug from him, a legitimate warm one? It does a lot to raise her spirits. ]

I brought you some cookies. And a cherry tart. And a lemon one, too.

Geez, with all you guys trying to feed me, I'm going to get fat. [He laughs as well, slowly releasing, but there's a grin on nonetheless.]

Sounds good though. [He'll just push the door open wider for them both to go in.]

You're not gonna get fat.

[ She's congested as hell, her voice a little raspy, but when he pulls away to go inside, she reaches for his hand regardless. ]

I didn't know you got a new place. This is nice.

[She sounds pretty bad, but he can understand her well enough. He'll let her take his hand as well and gives her a squeeze. There's another difference between him now and his usual: physical contact is more acceptable now. While he would have begrudgingly accepted before, physical contact doesn't bother him as much now. In fact, it's pleasant, and he doesn't think too much on it.]

Yeah, I got it with Nina recently. I'm working in her cafe now too. [He'll just lead her over to the living room for the couch.]

What district is it in? Are you a server or a barista? I don't think I've ever been to a real cafe. [ It's a soft, pattering line of chatter; her heart's only half into the smalltalk, but she's legitimately glad to see him, even as she sits down and squeezes his hand. ]

It's weird to see you without your color.

Odin. It's called the Hrafn Tea Room...And we're still trying to figure that out. I'm not exactly a people-person. [It comes with being a social hermit, but at least he can read people's minds to guess what they'd want. He also hates talking about food...until now, that is.]

Yeah, but it's even weirder for me. Becoming human is a big change.

Being black and white has to be a pretty big change, too, hehe- but I was like that for a while, too, I guess.

[ Jade sighs, then pulls her arm up to cover her mouth with her elbow, coughing. She has a cold. She has never had a cold before; not a whole lot of germs to catch on the island out there. ]

But what are the differences? Other than just biology.

[Too bad he doesn't know how to navigate the kitchen, or he'd offer her hot chocolate if he knew where the packages were.]

It's mostly biological, but I have a better physical sense of things too when it comes to touch. That, and processing things mentally is a lot different too.

Here. You should share one of these tarts with me. I stopped by the restaurant to pick it up for you.

[ She's looking around, looking for the plates there. ]

Alright, hold on a sec'. [And he's making his way to the kitchen to retrieve plates (even though he has no clue where those are either), but he eventually brings them back.]

I've never really set foot in the kitchen either, so there's some learning experiences too.

-- do you like it? Being human, I mean.

[ She's sitting down, wherever she could find a seat to sit at. ]

... [The couch works too, and ??? will hand her a plate in the process as he takes a seat as well.]

Yeah, I do. [Though he knows he can't get used to it.]

Maybe you could ask the gods to keep you that way. Fluttershy was a human while she was here.

[ Jade coughs again, frowning, suddenly wishing she weren't sick for this. They should be able to go out, to do things-- ]

Not that I'm comparing you to a pony!

[He doesn't mind sitting indoors though. At least he's not freezing.]

It's fine. I met Fluttershy...But I think for my case, it's a bit different. [Troubling too, and he's not sure why the gods would want to change things now.]

Just a little bit. I just hope it lasts a while.

[ Maybe selfishly. She wants to see him human- she wants to see him be a little less what she sees as intensely self deprecating. ]

[The self-deprecation never stops, but at least being human can make him forget for awhile.]

Mmhmm. I made the cherry goop on top myself.

[ She's smiling hesitantly at him. ]

"Cherry goop"? Great, that sounds appetizing. [He laughs it off though before taking a bite. Good thing there's no memories attached to eating tarts because he would hate to start randomly crying in front of her. It'd just be plain embarrassing. As for the tart itself, it's actually very good despite being a little too sweet.]

I like it. [A pause as he takes another bite.] Did you make the rest of them?

[ There are probably few things he could do that are more human than crying. Jade would have been proud.

But she grins at that otherwise, shaking her head. ]

Yes, but I made sure to wash my hands lots, and I wore a mask, I didn't want to make anyone sick with them.

[ She's a little wheezy, even now. ]

[He's had moments where he's cried or been on the verge of crying...except tears aren't possible for him.]

So you've always been good at baking? [??? finishes off the tart-- for someone who hates food, he's finished that pretty fast.]

Not at all! There are about six things that I can make well, haha. I've just really started learning.

[ But that pleases her quite a bit. ]
